Jesus didn’t call the perfect to His ministry.
Tax Collectors were some of the most despised people of that time. Working for the Romans and openly demanding more than was due so they could line their pockets at the expense of their countrymen. They were hated.
And yet, Jesus called on one of them to become His disciple. Matthew was not someone that was already reformed. Jesus asked him to join His ministry while he was sitting at his tax booth, working.
Peter denied Jesus three times and Jesus forgave him.
He knows we aren’t perfect, and He loves us anyway. He knows we will make more mistakes in the future, and He accepts us anyway.
Don’t demand perfection from others when Jesus doesn’t demand it of us.
