Jim is married to his best friend Sandy and they live north of Atlanta, Ga.
Born in Charleston, SC, but not solely raised there. His father was in the navy and that required the occasional relocation between naval ports.
The oldest of three brothers, he shares a passion for writing with his youngest brother, Tim.
Early in his IT career, he was afforded the opportunity for international work that provided great exposure to other parts of the world and different cultures and Jim has visited 12 different countries between work and pleasure.
He has been active in his church as a lay leader for many years. He has been a praise team member, adult small group leader, youth group leader, and a longtime Sunday School teacher.
He was a BSA leader for nine years with Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturing Crew.
He loves the outdoors, especially backpacking and has backpacked most of the Appalachian Trail in North Georgia along with other trails.

The people of Paris are lovely people, as long as you start the conversation saying ‘hello.’ They find us Americans extremely rude, when we walk up and start the conversation saying, “What’s the price for this?” I even had an armed soldier say hello to me as we walked past the check point for Napolean’s tomb. Truly lovely people.

Catholic churches are in abundance in India from Portugal’s reign, and the tomb of Thomas the disciple can be found in Chennai.

The Tower of London, home of the crown jewels, is an active castle (with a tower) in the heart of London.

New Zealand is home to nature's hot tubs. There are beaches with geo thermal activity. Bring a shovel, find a little bubbling spot and dig down. Being on the beach the hole fills with water and is naturally heated and bubbles with the geo thermal activity. Hot tubs on the beach.
